Nick Abruzzese – 2 Games Played – 2 Goals, 3 Assist
Nick Abruzzese is the USHL’s forward of the week for Week 10 of the regular season. The Chicago Steel forward scored an impressive five points in two games last week and helped the Steel extend their winning streak to seven games. He would score one goal and add an assist Friday against the Central Illinois Flying Aces before then scoring another goal and adding two assists against the Flying Aces on Saturday.
Abruzzese is now up to five goals and 21 points in 19 games and has a five-game point streak that includes three goals and nine points. He leads the entire Steel team in points.
Ronnie Attard – 3 Games Played – 2 Goals, 2 Assist
Ronnie Attard has been named the USHL’s defender of the week. He scored three goals and four points in two games from the blue-line. One of which was the game-winning goal Friday against Sioux Falls.
Attard is on a three-game point scoring streak. He is tied for second on the Tri-City Storm in points with 13. His 13 points (six goals, seven assists) are also good for seventh among all USHL blueliners. He’s also tied for second in the USHL defenders with his six goals on the season.
Reilly Herbst – 1 Game Played – 1 Win, 1.00 GAA, .952 SV%
Reilly Herbst is the USHL’s goaltender of the week. Another member of the Chicago Steel, Herbst earned a victory in his one start last week while making 20 saves on 21 shots. He had a stellar 1.00 goals-against average and .952 save percentage as a result.
Herbst is now 2-2-0-0 on the season. He has been an excellent addition to the Chicago Steel after they drafted him in the sixth-round in the 2018 USHL Phase II Draft. He’ll look to turn his .500 win-percentage into a positive one the next time he steps into the crease for Chicago.
