Hank Crone – 3 Games Played – 3 Goals, 3 Assists
Hank Crone has been named the USHL’s forward of the week after scoring an impressive three goals and six points in three games.
He’d start his scoring with a goal and an assist Tuesday at home against the Sioux City Musketeers. He’d follow that performance up with another two goals and two assists Saturday in a 5-0 shutout victory for the Fargo Force against the Tri-City Storm. Finally, he’d record his third assist and sixth point Sunday, also against the Storm.
He’s now up to a 10-game point streak with five goals and 16 points dating back to Nov. 21. He also has five multi-point efforts in that stretch.
Max Crozier – 3 Games Played – 2 Goals, 2 Assists
Max Crozier is this week’s defender of the week. The first of two Sioux Falls Stampede players to make it to the list this week, Crozier would score two goals and add three assists in a very successful weekend for the Stampede.
He’d score two goals, including the game-winning goal in overtime while adding an assist Thursday. He’d then record another two apples Friday to close out his strong week. He now has at least one point in seven of his last games and is up to four goals and 16 points in 21 games overall.
Alec Calvaruso – 3 Games Played – 3 Wins, 1.21 GAA, .952 SV%
The USHL has selected Alec Calvaruso for goaltender of the week. There have been good starts in sports, and then there has been Calvaruso level “good starts.” After being added to the Sioux Falls Stampede roster on Dec. 8, Calvaruso burst onto the scene with three wins in three games. He also did so while putting up a jaw-dropping 1.21 goals-against average and .952 save percentage.
He would make 10 saves in relief Thursday in a winning effort, he’d then make 29 saves on 31 shots Friday and another 20 saves on 21 shots faced Saturday.
