VIDEO: Igor Larionov II Discusses Leaving Windsor for Muskegon

The name Igor Larionov is best remembered as being a part of the Detroit Red Wings Russian Five. Carrying on the legacy of his father in his own way, Igor Larionov II (jr) decided to make the switch from the OHL’s Windsor Spitfires to the USHL Muskegon Lumberjacks. Consequently, it sparked a lot of conversation about the OHL but also about Larionov’s future. After beginning the season in Muskegon injured, Igor has recovered and is now looking ahead.

In his final season of junior league eligibility, Larionov took some time to talk with Access Hockey MI about his decision to switch, development, his future in hockey and the pressures that come with being a former NHL-er’s son.
