Brendan Furry, Ronnie Attard, Isaiah Saville: USHL Players of the WeekJanuary 14, 2019
Brendan Furry – 3 Games Played – 2 Goals, 6 Assists
Brendan Furry has been named the USHL’s forward of the week. The Tri-City Storm forward started his very impressive week with a goal and two assists Friday. He’d follow that up with another goal and three more assists Saturday before recording his sixth assist and eighth point on Sunday.
With eight points in three games, it should be fairly obvious why Furry earned the forward of the week honors. He’s now up to 12 goals and 31 points and leads the Storm in scoring. He’s also second on the team in assists with 19 on the season.
Ronnie Attard – 3 Games Played – 1 Goal, 5 Assists
Ronnie Attard has been named the USHL’s defender of the week. The second Storm player on this list, Attard would score a goal and six points in three games to help the Storm to victories over the weekend.
He’d score a goal and two assists Friday before recording another two assists Saturday. He’d close out his week with another assist Sunday, closing out one of if not the best stretch of his career.
Attard is now third among USHL defenders in scoring with 26 points (including 11 goals) and is the only defender in the entire league with at least five-games played to average over a point-per-game. Attard is currently scoring at a 1.18 point-per-game clip.
Isaiah Saville– 2 Game Played – 2 Wins, 1.21 GAA, 0.968 SV%
Isaiah Saville has been named the USHL’s goaltender of the week. The third and final Storm member on this list, Saville earned his third Goalie of the Week honors this season after starting his week with a 38-save shutout Friday before making another 42 saves on 44 shots Saturday.
It was a very good week for the Storm. Saville had a major hand to play in that success as he has all season long. He now boasts a 16-2-1-1 record with an excellent 1.64 goals-against average and .939 save percentage, both leading the league.
