Access Hockey MI, breaks down the real-life conversations with players from around the leagues. In hopes of learning the ins and outs of the game and the stats, we strive to find the honest answers from the individual players.

Breaking down the game one conversation at a time brings more life to the game. The game of hockey would be nothing without the young men that make it what it is and we endeavor to know them. Each player is vital to their team’s success and here, we get closer to knowing how.

VIDEO: James McIsaac Leaves WJHL to Seek Education with USHL

Canadian born, James McIsaac, has had a storied career for only 19 years old. After an incredibly successful career in the WJHL, McIsaac was offered a deal to remain semi-pro in the Canadian league. Turning it down to have a better opportunity at an education, McIsaac joined the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the USHL.

The 2019 NHL Entry Draft is coming up so we spoke about some draft hopefuls and some notable mentions! Egor Afanasyev who is draft eligible this year, Mikael Hakkarainen who was selected by the Chicago Blackhawks last year, and Alex Yakovenko who isn’t eligible but is one of the top defensemen in the USHL.

VIDEO: Brandon Bussi Lumberjacks Goalie on NCAA & USHL

The Muskegon Lumberjacks are 20-4-1 currently. Much of that success is due to the magic of goalie Brandon Bussi. In his first year in the USHL, Bussi has shown great skill and poise within the net. Brandon is now committed to Western Michigan University. Bussi holds a GAA 2.04 and SV% of 0.926 as of December 16, 2018. In 23 games, Bussi is 20-2-1.
